Mahi and Kingfish today

November 6th, 2017 by Lady Helen Charters

Another beautiful South Florida day. Perfect weather and we are running offshore searching for mahi. We are all keeping our eyes peeled for the telltale signs that Mahi are are close by. We are looking for Frigate birds, current edges, floating debris, flying fish, weed lines, etc.  After running about 10 miles we found the west wall of the gulfstream and which was evident by the color of the water and line of Sargassum weed. The trolling spread was deployed and not long after the first Mahi was hooked up and jumping behind the boat.

Jim and Jordan Shiffler caught several nice mahi on a weedline offshore Fort Lauderdale.
