Trolling the shallow reef is whats hot.

Tuesday, December 12th, 2017

The last couple of trips we have been spending a good portion of our time trolling the shallow reef in 15 – 30′ of water. Weather has keep us from venturing to far offshore so trolling the 3rd reef for kingfish and kite fishing for sailfish along the drop off is the preferred choice. When the bite is slow we have been moving inshore to the first and second reef and trolling small deep diving lures. We have been catching a variety of species including red grouper, mutton snapper, yellowtail snapper, mangrove snapper, yellow jack, cero mackerel, spanish mackerel, and kingfish. These fish provide lots of action and are some of the finest eating fish from the sea.
