Boat record red snapper caught
Genuine Red Snappers are a rare catch in Fort Lauderdale. This one we reeled up today was caught by Ryan Wescott. He measured 34″ and weighed in at 30lbs. Ryan’s Snapper was caught on the bottom in 300′ of water over structure. Bottom fishing or deep dropping has been the ticket lately. Among the species typically caught deep dropping are Golden Tilefish, Snowy Grouper, Vermilion Snapper, Yellow Eye Snapper, Blackfin Snapper, Blackbelly Rosefish, amongst others. A great way to bring home eating fish when the conditions are right.
