Smooth summertime seas give us the opportunity to run to run offshore in the search of Mahi-Mahi. When running offshore we are looking for fishy looking areas to deploy our trolling baits. Some signs of fishy areas would include areas where the birds are actively feeding with a good amount of bait fish in the water. A strong current edge or continuous weed line is always worthy of some trolling time. A circling Frigate bird that dives to the waters surface is a sure sign of Mahi below. My personal favorite are floating objects in the water. these could be logs, wooden pallets that have fallen off ships, or anything that has been in the water for a long time and has developed a food chain underneath. Live baits tossed around these floating objects can deliver some of the most exciting Mahi fishing imaginable! Book now while the seas are summertime calm.
